& on that path, you have made a conscious decision to follow the 5 basic Reiki rules – namely –

Just for today, I will give thanks for many blessings
Just for today, I will let go of worry
Just for today, I will let go of anger
Just for today, I will do my work honestly
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbour & every living thing

Reiki training encourages us to practice Reiki on ourselves each & every day.  Each & every day after your Reiki training Level 1 attunement you will be able to heal yourself on a daily basis.  You will also be able to give Reiki to friends & family.

Reiki training encourages us to focus on the positives in life – be thankful for what you have, not what you don’t.

Reiki training encourages us to let go of worry.  Worry is a negative emotion – thoughts just going round & round in our heads without an outlet.  Reiki training helps us calm the mind, so that we are able to clarify situations.  Reiki training through various meditation exercises enables us to let go of situations beyond our control.

Reiki training encourages us to let go of anger.  Anger is generally unfocused.  Reiki training enables us to look beyond.  Reiki training helps us to see the bigger picture, to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes.  Reiki training encourages compassion.

Reiki training encourages us to be honest in our dealings.  Reiki training encourages us to put our heart & soul into our work & to do the very best that we are able.  Not only does Usui literally mean work but he means working at things – such as relationships.  We all know how much work goes into nurturing & sustaining a relationship & Reiki training is there to guide us.

Reiki training encourages us to be kind.  It encourages us to have respect for others even if the person possibly does not deserve our kindness.  Kindness encourages compassion.  To try & understand the problems other people are facing, to try imagine ourselves in their situation.  

Reiki training helps us do all of this & more.

Reiki training is a way of life.  It opens us up spiritually & mentally.  

Through Reiki training we learn how to be a channel for good.  We have a strong desire to help others less fortunate than ourselves.  We have a desire to relieve others of pain & suffering – even for a short period of time.  This we can do by offering Reiki healing honestly (Rule no. 4 in Reiki training).

If we have the intention to help & to cure then we are certainly well on the way to making a difference, however small to somebody else.  

Just remember, love is so much stronger than hate.  Both emotions have the inbuilt ability  of growth but the expansion of love – how wonderful – just think of nature, butterflies, sunshine, love & the expansion of hate…..we won’t dwell on that here!
